Paper. Condition: Fine. Colour Photographs (illustrator). First (English). 144 pages of satire on the human `new-view' anatomy and altered-reality. THINK nose jobs, breast implants and liposuction. Think cultural icons like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Jane Fonda, or Mike Tyson. THINK television, computer graphics, mannequins, and mind-altering drugs. MEET artists like George Lappas, Yasumasa Morimura, Meyer Vaisman, and Cady Noland (etc.) - whose creations occupy the last half of the volume. We are experiencing a new reality in terms of electronic space, for example, and our ideas of appropriate and acceptable have not evolved as rapidly - SO the curator of the show looks at the (colour) visual images we have amassed which confront that new reality - the post-human reality. You will be BOTH shocked and tickled. Images range from a television set inside a mud hut in Africa to robotic intercourse. Cond : Paper wrapper is blue with black lettering. Front cover graphic is a `natural' woman laying in a bed of water. Volume has FRENCH FLAPS - the inside of which features a Jane Fonda special review. Corners, edges, and spine all fine. Colours bright, binding tight. No names, marks, creases, folds, stains, bumps, nor tears. Clean !! Collectible !! Quote (p. 47) : " . remain unclear. What we do know is that we will soon be forced by technological advances to develop a new morality. We will need to build a new moral structure that will give people a framework of how to deal with . ." Size: Quarto. Seller Inventory # 004182
