Mr Harriman is a New Englander by birth whose life was much shaped by the Depression and World War II, as well as by growing up in a clergyman's family. After war-time military service he worked for twenty-two years in many continents in the fields of personal,racial and international relations. In the 1970s and '80s he was executive director of the Tucson Festival Society, celebrating the city's cultural heritage. He is the author of "The Man from the Hills: a Biography of Leland D. Case," published by Westerners International of Oklahoma City. He and his wife, the former Nancy Dole, live in Tucson, Arizona.
