The wisdom, metaphysical boldness, and lyrical passion of the great Sufi Masters, past and present, mingles with the actual experiences of contemporary seekers to provide a vivid, indelible, and heartfelt description of this ancient path. Special emphasis is given to excerpts from the work of the 9th-century mystic, Al-Hakim at-Tirmidhi (including teaching dreams of his wife), available here for the first time in English.

Sara Sviri, Ph.D., studied and taught Arabic and Islamic Studies in Israel. In her studies, published in various compilations and journals, she has focused on the formation and characteristics of the early mystical schools of Islam, with special interest in the Malâmâti movement of Nishapur and in the mystical psychology of al-Hakîm al-Tirmidhî. She has lectured extensively on these and other topics in Europe, Israel and America.
The Taste Of Hidden Things is a portrait of Sufism as a living mystical system. A special place is given to the 9th century mystic, al-Hakim at-Tirmidhi. Excerpts from his work, including teaching dreams of his wife, are published here for the first time in English.
