Rains retired from delivering yachts only to cruise for pleasure and to update Cruising Ports and Mexico Boating Guide. As a life-long cruiser, Capt. Pat Rains writes the yacht cruising columns for SEA Magazine and The Log Newspapers on the West Coast, and she's a contributor to Cruising World, Latitude 38, PassageMaker, BoatUS Magazine and other US nautical publications.
