The author was born in Cherokee, Alabama and from an early age listened to stories told about the Civil War that had passed down from generation to generation. He spent twenty years in the US Air Force and taught school for fifteen years in a school district in Delaware. He has written eight books, most were about the South. His books are distributed nation wide and in some foreign countries.
