About the Author

Arlene Maguire is a native of New Jersey who has been writing children's books for three decades. She has taught elementary school for nearly twenty years, after earning a teaching degree from Rutgers University. Arlene has committed herself to writing books that relate the importance of self-valuation to young people. Aware that "our self-image is formed early in life," her books teach children to hold on to their basic goodness and to be proud of who they are. Arlene's other children's titles include Life's Changes (1991) and Dinosaur ABC (1995). She is the mother of two, the stepmother of three, and the adopted mother of one. She resides in San Diego, California.
