About the Author

Seena B. Frost, M. Div., M.A. studied theology at Yale Divinity School, married, raised four children, and then received a Master's degree in psychology from Santa Clara University. She is a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Special trainings with Jean Houston and Robin Van Doren inspired the combining of three of her life passions: spirituality, psychotherapy, and creativity. Images and Imagination

Science and reason decided imagination was ephemeral and misleading; it was consigned to poets and artists. Now, with the recent emphasis on soul-tending in the late twentieth century, imagination is gaining status once more. There is widespread honoring of feminine functions. Psychology, science, and religion are rediscovering the transformative power of images. One example would be Einstein himself who is said to have arrived at the theory of relativity, not through logic and reason, but in a state of intuition and imagination.

Our imagination can probe the heights of Spirit and the depths of Soul, traveling often on the wings of vivid images. These images or "Imagoes" make visible and particular what is invisible and abstract. For a moment in space and time one strand of the Divine Net is translated into an image, and through this image its wisdom and energy become available.

The abstract word Love is used over and over, often in meaningless ways. But, discover a picture of love being expressed in a special way familiar to you a mother holding her newborn, an old woman carrying her cat in her arms and then the reality of Love will go right to your heart. Whenever you turn over this card with this image on it, your heart and your mind will say, "Love."

The SoulCollage process honors the transformative power of imagination. As you sit leafing through magazines your soul will gravitate to powerful pictures with symbolic meaning for you.
