Frank T. Crowe joined the newly formed United States Reclamation Service in 1905 and headed West to work on numerous irrigation projects designed to 'water the West.' "I definitely feel this is an important addition to the literature of the West. This is a soundly researched book...This is the story of a man central to Bureau of Rec1amation construction from Arrowrock Dam, completed in 1915, to Shasta Dam, completed in 1945."
--Brit Storey, Senior Historian, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
"I think you've got a winner in your biography of Crowe. There's been so much written about the first monument-Hoover Dam-it's good to see the other monument--Crowe given his place."
-Dennis McBride, Co-author of Building Hoover Dam: An Oral History of the Great Depression
"Crowe has earned the recognition of one of world's greatest engineers and the telling of his story is long overdue. The successful engineer has to be creative and you have done a great job in showing Crowe's creativity."
-Chet Rock, Associate Dean of Engineering, University of Maine
