About the Author

Four years after the death of her husband of 26 years, Sharlene Minshall sold her home, moved into a motorhome, and launched a second life. It was a time of letting go of grief and starting a whole new life of RVing adventures and a new career in writing. This eventually led to authoring five books, with number six due out soon, and lecturing on the RVing lifestyle. Nearly fifteen years of full-time solo traveling have taken her through all the United States, all the Canadian Provinces, and seventeen Mexican States. She has published over 300 columns and articles in RV magazines. She has been an instructor for Life on Wheels, RV Educational Conferences, since 1996.

Excerpt/sixth chapter: The Kiss Method. No, this isn't the section on romance. Keep It Simple Stupid, is the best way to handle problems (Actually, that's not a bad way to handle romance either!). My lack of talent for fixing mechanical difficulties frustrates me. I've been known to utter such profanities as "For crying tears in a bucket" or "Jeeze peez and blood clots" (from my medical secretarial days). Having done that, I cry, stomp a little more (depending on the seriousness of the problem), and do what I should have done in the first place, pray for help. The answer is always the same, I have already been given the knowledge to fix it (If I think about it calmly) or I have the ability to find somebody who can. See, it's really quite Simple. To get started, three very important thoughts come to mind, whether you are a RVer or not. If you do these three things, it will help you avoid crises conditions, being broken down on the road, and being at the mercy of whomever is nearby to fix it, instead of someone you know and trust. 1. Keep your vehicle in good mechanical shape so you won't break down on the road. 2. Listen to your vehicle. You drive it nearly every day. If the sounds change, it may signify a problem. Analyze it and fix it or get it fixed. 3. Give your vehicle daily TLC (Tender Loving Care).
