From Chapter 1: The Junker grew in David's sight pip. He fired and watched white streaks of his tracer shells disappear into the tail of the Hun.

White streaks shot past David's head. He heard a snapping sound as they passed inches away. Bullets slammed into the armor plating in back of his seat. Helpless, he was thrown about the cockpit like a child's rag doll. The impact left him dizzy.

David rolled hard left, pulling the stick back into his lap. He chopped the throttle and dumped his flaps. The Me-109 shot past so close David could see oil streaks on its belly. The messerschmitt filled his gun sight: David squeezed the gun button. The cockpit filled with the stink of burning cordite. The Hurricane buffeted from the recoil, as if it'd hit a wind sheer.
