Synopsis
These poems are based on a journey to India to meet a spiritual master. They are at once lyrical, humorous, and honest and called "defiantly radiant" by Diana Hume George in The Spoon River Poetry Review. Celebrated for their craft as well as their spiritual insight, the poems in Small Claims point to the ultimate mystical experience of silence--a silence explored by the Interspiritual writer Lynda Terry in her essay, "Speak Me Into Silence," a line from the end poem "Mystical Discourse" in Small Claims, included in Mature Interspirituality: Wayne Teasdale's Nine Elements--and Beyond (Sacred Feet, 2017). Gorgeous photographic illustrations in black and white from different parts of India share intimate reflections of this poetic journey.

About the Author
As Dr. Sonya Jones, English Professor, this scholar-poet was called, "the humorist of the Krishnamurti set." After shifting her scholarly focus to Comparative World Religions and taking Sannyas in Ganeshpuri, India in 2012, she was referred to as a "female Huston Smith." As the head of Sacred Feet Yoga, Sw. Shraddhananda or Mataji has students who live all over the United States and in England. She is known worldwide for her integrity. Small Claims is the first of a three-volume series entitled The Guru Sutras.
