About the Author:

Francis J Gallagher author of Leaving Ireland was awarded the Tamarack 1999 Author / Publisher Award in ceremonies at Tamarack, The Best of West s contest in 1987.Sons and Karen Offitzer of Tucson University. He also attended creative writing seminars at Bluefield State college and West Virginia University. Gallagher won second prize in the West Virginia Annual Writer Virginia July 1999. Frank as he is known locally came to the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs from Ireland to work at the five star hotel in 1955. When he retired a few years ago he began a new career of writing. He studied writing with the best selling author, Pickney Benedict, EchoTheater founder Maryat Lee, Inette Miller who wrote Burning Bridges, G.P. Putnam
