Dan Woog is a graduate of Staples High School and Brown University. He has written 15 books, on subjects as varied as gay issues in education, soccer and Jesse Jackson. He is a fulltime freelance writer, whose work has appeared in the New York Times, Sports Illustrated and USA Today. His column, Woog’s World, has run in the Westport News every Friday since 1986. He is also the boys’ varsity soccer coach at Staples, and a member of the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame.
