For 32 years S. N. Goenka, the renowed teacher of Vipassana, has been elucidating the profound and subtle teaching of the Buddha, as he learned it from his teacher, the late Sayagyi U Ba Khin of Myanmar (1899-1971). A long chain of teachers has preserved the Vipassana practice from the Buddha's time, with its emphasis on vedana (sensation), which Goenkaji calls"the Buddha's great discovery for humanity."
