It is based solely on the printed text edited by Eben Norton Horsford and published by John Wilson & Son, University Press, Cambridge, Mass., in 1887 (reprinted by AMS PRESS, INC., New York, 1982). Besides arranging the Delaware words in alphabetical order, I have added a commentary on many of the entries in the form of endnotes; an index of definitions, which provides an English-Delaware finding aid; and, a concordance of Delaware word endings, arranged alphabetically (beginning with the last letter and reading right to left). The vocabulary contained herein was collected by Rev. David Zeisberger and other Moravian missionaries (as Horsford makes clear in the preface to his edition) during the latter half of the eighteenth century." (SIGNED FIRST EDITION).
