The leading text in the world for reliability and statistical analysis for predicting life, safety, survivability, risk, cost, and warranty claims. Life data analysis includes Weibull, normal. log normal, binomial, Poisson, exponential, Kaplan-Meier, Probit, Crow-AMSAA methodology Presents “best practice” for alternative methods such as maximum likelihood versus regression estimates, confidence and predictive intervals, test substantiation, sudden death, sample size requirements, accelerated testing, cost analysis, failure predictions, spare parts inventory control, optimal parts replacement, risk analysis, The material is presented in case studies with heavy math in appendixes. Written by an engineer for engineers. The author responds to E-mail questions about the technology. Supporting software and seminars are available. There are over 13,000 copies of the earlier three editions in circulation.

Dr. Robert Abernethy is an engineer and a statistician. He has four degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Imperial College of the London. He was a Navy Scholar and a Fulbright scholar. After serving in the US Navy, he was with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 32 years. He invented the J58 engine that powers the world's fastest aircraft, the Lockheed Blackbird, the SR-71. He also has the patent on the afterburner used on the F-100 engine in the F-15 and F-16 aircraft. For his original research in Weibull analysis methods he has received numerous awards from SAE, AIAA, ASME, and ISA. He is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, SAE, American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics, and the American Society of Quality. He has lectured on Weibull analysis all over the world and his Weibull Handbooks have been translated into Hungarian and Chinese.Review:
"...The handbook, together with the software, will be an invaluable aid to reliability engineers." -- The Royal Statistical Society Journal
