From Chapter 1: The "Boomers" have influenced our lives and economy for the past fifty years, and the changes they will continue to initiate as a group are profound. More than half of these "boomers" are women and almost half of these women are now the head of a single parent households. Further it is estimated that there exist more than 76 million of these boomers (including me) and represents the "trendsetters" in our economic and social systems. As an investment professional, I recognized that a larger number of people attending my seminars were women and as I researched articles and prepared for my investment seminars, the subject of "Women and Investing" naturally evolved. Over time it became clear to me there was a need for some simple, direct information to answer the questions that women were asking.
