Rather than focusing on the pain and problems, this book teaches fibromyalgia patients how to feel well again. Patients are taught the key steps to minimizing or eliminating their symptoms—education, commitment to a healthy lifestyle, and accepting the importance of the connection between mind, body, and spirit. More than 100 photos, drawings, charts, and tables will show readers how to focus on the power of their minds, take responsibility for their own health, and become even healthier than before their diagnosis.

From the Author:
We have been friends for many years and practice gastroenterology and orthopedic surgery in the same city, Columbus, Ohio. It was at the time that Dr. Salt was writing his book, Irritable Bowel Syndrome & the Mind-Body/Brain-Gut Connection, that we began to compare our irritable bowel syndrome and fibromyalgia patients. We immediately became fascinated with the many similarities between the two disorders (30% - 70% of those who suffer with one condition also have the other). We began an exhaustive compilation of research and practice experience. We officially teamed up in 1997 to combine our areas of expertise to write Fibromyalgia and the MindBodySpirit Connection.
