From Introduction - This book examines the myriad of Southern Pacific station building designs erected, or acquired by the SP, which were located in the territory set apart by the railroad as the Shasta, Tucson, Western, Northwestern, San Diego & Arizona divisions. The photographs depict structures primarily as they stood in the early to mid-1950s, although some material dates from earlier period. Statistics regarding the class of each station, elevation, telegraph call letters, stock yards and kind of agency are included where applicable based on information published by the SP.
