TEMP.tation is a concise, humorous book about "temping" that offers important tips to humanize a profession which often treats workers as if they aren't quite real people. It offers warm reassurances to those people who have no work experience at all, as well as to those reentering the workforce who may be intimated by their lack of computer skills. It shows how to turn now-and-then assignments into a permanent career and provides a helping helping of hilarious work-related anecdotes.

Carol Feltman is a veteran "temp" who has been filling in and digging out for over 20 years. Although she has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, she has always enjoyed being in the secretarial arena both in the military and in the world of commerce and industry. She lives in Bedford, MA with her husband, Gordon, who retired from the Air Force in 1976. Her three grown daughters have moved away - to Texas, Alaska, and Colorado. She tries not to take the separations personally.
"Entertaining as well as pragmatic! Required reading for all temps." - Julie Feltman "Witty and insightful. I couldn't put it down. Destined to be a classic." - Laura Feltman "A must-read for anyone who is even just thinking about temping. Run, don't walk, to get your own copy." - Sheila Feltman "The premier primer on how to make a long-time career out of short-time assignments. Employment enjoyment made easy." - Gordon Feltman
"You did WHAT to my hard drive?!!"
"Well, we have bathrooms, but they're for employees only."
"The offices were dark. I think we were the only two people in the building. He had gotten a flashlight from somewhere and was heading into the President's office like some cat burglar in a Grade B movie, for what purpose I knew not. I didn't feel like humming. And I didn't want to be there. But there I was. And there he was. And there we were. All I really knew was that I was scared out of my wits."
"I was keen enough to keep a very low profile that day and to stay out of it ... even when the desk fell off the truck and crushed the top of a bookcase. Even when the contents of a drawer came flying out as a cabinet was being hoisted onto the truck. And even when it started to rain."
