This volume of local history contains anecdotal accounts of the events in towns and villages in the area where today the States of Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts join, at the time of America's fight for Independence. The collection was compiled by Edward Fales, Jr. for The Lakeville Journal as a Bicentennial project in 1976, and was originally published on newsprint. This revised edition, edited by Kathryn Boughton, has been printed on acid-free paper to become a permanent addition to local history reference collections.

The new edition was published by Tri-Corners History Council, an informal coordinating committee of local historical societies and volunteers in the towns of Ashley Falls, Canaan, Cornwall, Falls Village, Millerton, Salisbury, Sharon, and Sheffield.
