Mary Sutton Skutt is a native of Virginia,a graduate of Radford College and the University of New Hampshire and taught in Virginia schools for 18 years. After retiring from the Lexington City Schools, she became a docent at the George C. Marshall Museum and Research Library. Having grown up during the time that Marshall was making the history we study today, she decided to write a book that young people could read concerning this great American. Mrs. Skutt lives in Lexington with her husband, has 4 grown children and 12 grandchildren. Housework is not her hobby.
