Joel Randall grew up northwest of Gibbon, Nebraska, the fifth generation of Randalls on the family farm and ranch. He attended a rural one-room school (now on exhibit at the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer in Grand Island, Nebraska) and graduated from college in Kearney, Nebraska. His corporate education occurred in Scottsdale, Arizona consisting mainly of finance, insurance and soda pop.
After departing corporate American, he moved to New Mexico and became involved in a "Summerhill" school. He built a place for his family, trained horses, milked goats, and fed hogs. Randall established a number of Rotor-Rooter businesses in addition to opening an alternative healing center. Later, he owned and operated a motel and mobile home business.
When he is planted, Randall is at home in the Ozarks and on the family farm and ranch in Nebraska. At other times, he likes to head out with the RV and home is wherever he parks. Randall is available for readings and programs including: schools, retirement facilities, coffeehouses, cowboy poetry gatherings, literature festivals, and storytelling gatherings. He travels nationwide to various celebrations and events.
