This book was undertaken in response to significant and unsettling life changes we experienced some years back. Our initial objective was to provide ourselves with a written guide to help us recognize and overcome our own habitual behaviors and achieve our potential, individually and as a couple. As the work progressed, and the ideas we wrote about helped us create meaningful changes, we realized it could be of benefit to others who might want changes but were unclear as to how to bring them about. Of course, even then, we had no idea how much effort would still be required to bring about a finished product. (We often say, Naivete accomplishes many things.) And now, some years later, we are glad we persevered. The result is a book that we strongly feel can be used as a practical guide by anyone to help him/her achieve a particular goal, overcome habitual tendencies, and attain a greater level of peace and happiness.
