Dr. Louis Miele is a Professor, Author, Lecturer, Promoter and Screen/Radio/TV personality. The youngest of nine children, Louis came to New York from his native Italy together with his father and sister Rose at his young age of sixteen. There, he had been attending the fourth year of gymnasium and private violin lessons. Upon his arrival to New York, he continued his studies at Roosevelt High School while teaching dance at Fred Astaires Dance Studios and working nights at a biscuit company. As a new immigrant, Louis quickly learned the important aspect of the melting-pot theory - that sacrifice and perseverance are synonymous to success, and prerequisite to the achievement of respect and equality in a multi-cultural world. Soon after his 18th birthday, he decided to follow his father's footsteps and join the services, where he served a total of six years in the United States Army Corps (New Jersey, Kansas and Germany). Upon his honorable discharge (with a medal of good conduct), Louis continued his dream to achieve financial stability in this land of opportunities, and sought his adventure in the business world, starting three businesses and a vocational school with two of his sisters. He pursued his educational goal with immense sacrifice and perseverance, working part time 12 years while attending Mercy College, Lehman College, Hunter College and Union Graduate University (Ohio State). After receiving a degree in languages, Louis continued his studies until he earned the highest scholastic degree, a Ph.D. in multi-lingual communication with specialty in psycholinguistics. His educational and lecturing career includes teaching 12 years at Florida University, the Nassau and Westchester County Schools, and other prestigious educational institutions. Dr. Louis Miele has fostered an exceptional method of learning that is both unique and effective. He has successfully performed in a variety of capacities with unselfish love and dedication for people of all nations, particularly the Italian-Americans in the world. Since his arrival in America, he has constantly endeavored to help his community with inviolable integrity, perseverance and friendly character that is both contagious and enthusiastic. He was only an undergraduate student when the racial problems were prepondorating the American schools, and his involvement became symbolic. In order to ease the tension, Louis created and presented cultural assemblies, dance classes and social reunions under the auspices of the Professional Italian American Cultural Exchange. He, also, exposed the youths’ exuberant elegance and noble behavior on his weekly television and radio shows. An action that usually invites praise from some quarters and criticism from others. But that didn’t stop Professor Miele from utilizing all of his talents for the motivation and betterment of our youth and all mankind. Dr. Miele is creative, imaginative and diligent with high-developed skills in the area of communication and entertainment. Not only did he show on American television the best side of young immigrants, but, and most importantly, millions of people around the world could admire the real side of the older immigrants in contrast to other parts of the movie. (Louis was the dance choreographer and singer in the movie "The Godfather"). For the community, he has organized groups to revitalize the downtown in two major cities of Florida and New York. Education has always been an integral part of Professor Miele's life. Following his honorable discharge from the U.S.Army, Louis went to Announcing Training School and earned a diploma in Radio, Television and Screen announcing/acting, including the FCC license to broadcast professionally. Dr. Miele, who has taught at every level, continues to teach and lecture, while keeping the community informed with his weekly radio programs and cultural publications. Throughout all his endeavors, Louis has never neglected his
