Minor League Baseball:
The unlikely event of Jerry Walker, a real estate magnate from Everett, Washington, and Bill Tucker, a lawyer from Brooklyn, New York meeting and becoming partners in the ownership of a minor league baseball team is miraculous in itself. But that is exactly what happened. The two met at the Mickey Mantle/Whitey Ford Fantasy Baseball Camp in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and the story grew from there. This book recites the events that brought them to that momentous meeting and led to the acquisition of the Northwest League team in Bellingham, Washington, it success, and its 1992 Championship Season. Associated at the start with the Seattle Mariners, the team eventually switched affiliations to the San Francisco Giants. The franchise was moved to Salem-Keizer, Oregon in 1997 where Jerry and Bill built a new baseball stadium. The team is now known as the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and is affiliated with the San Francisco Giants.
