She completed her post doctoral training at Lake Shore Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire as a Staff Psychologist on the Child and Adolescent unit and was instrumental in establishing a unit exclusively for women based on the Stone Center model.
Dr. Lamothe has taught for The N. H. Technical Institute, New England College and Antioch/New England graduate School and has provided consultation and education to a variety of agencies including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Teradyne Corp., Oxford Health, N.H. She is a member of the N.H. Psychological Association, The American Psychological Association, The Association for Women in Psychology and the American Naturopathic Medical Association.
Dr. Lamothe has been in private practice since 1981. She combines traditional and alternative methods to work "holistically" - that is, with each client's physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Special areas of expertise include eating disorders, life transitions, midlife and menopause, alternative lifestyles, anxiety, depression and stress. She has helped people with compulsive eating behaviors since she opened her practice and runs weekend retreats and workshops for people who struggle with this issue.
