Michael H. Price, an internationally recognized authority on motion pictures, Southern folklore, and the popular culture, was moved to create SOUTHERN-FRIED HOMICIDE as a means of recapturing a collection of ghost stories and crime legends learned from his backwoods grandparents. Meanwhile, Price is agonizingly close to finishing a massive revision (with Hollywood historian George E. Turner) of his and Turner's classic work of film history, FORGOTTEN HORRORS -- due this winter from Midnight Marquee Press.
Based in Fort Worth since 1980 as an editor, columnist, and critic with the daily Star-Telegram and the Scripps-Howard and New York Times news services, Price recently jumped ship to become president of the Fort Worth Film Festival and director of movie programming for the Sundance Square entertainment district.
Price's movie commentaries appear at the Web site http: www.gourmetcinema.com, and every Friday at 11:30 a.m. (Central) on KRLD-Radio, 1080AM, Fort Worth/Dallas. Price' also is a contributor to the forthcoming Midnight Marquee Christmas Movies book and the same publisher's collection of essays on Vincent Price. A sequel to SOUTHERN-FRIED HOMICIDE is in the works.
