The author has developed and taught a variety of computer courses including online and blended classes at FCCJ since 1990 in the areas of programming languages, DBMSs, System Development and Design, and PC applications for a wide variety of computer environments (J2EE, mainframe, midrange, PC). Prior to working at FCCJ, Professor Janson worked for IBM at their semiconductor manufacturing center in New York. During his eight years at IBM he held a variety of managerial and technical positions (system architect, database designer, programmer/ analyst) in the IS department developing and maintaining manufacturing and logistics systems. In addition, Professor Janson is the founder and owner of Janson Industries (JI) which publishes computer textbooks and develops and conducts customized corporate training, specializing in Java and the AS/400-iSeries-System i. JI has worked with IBM education, IBM business partners, and independent consultants to provide training to corporate clients throughout the United States.
