About the Author:
Elaine G. McGillicuddy, a native Mainer, is a retired high school English teacher. She lived in Missouri, New York, Massachusetts, and Waterville, Maine, during the 15½ years that she was an Ursuline nun. In 1968, while Campus Minister at Colby College, she met and later married Francis A. McGillicuddy after he left the clerical priesthood. She has a B.A. in English from the College of New Rochelle, New York, an M.A. in Religious Studies from Providence College, Rhode island, and is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, leader of the Dances of Universal Peace, and permaculture designer. Widowed in 2010, McGillicuddy lives a largely monastic life at home in Portland Maine. While working on her next book, Sing to Me and I Will Hear You - The Memoir: A Love Story, she is on sabbatical from teaching a weekly yoga class at Portland Yoga Studio, which she co-founded with Francis in 1989. This is her first collection of poetry.
