About the Author:

Charlotte Lundy grew up along the Gulf Coast in Mobile, Alabama. It was there that she began writing poems and stories at the age of eight. Charlotte has a Liberal Arts Degree and enjoys playing tennis, skiing, reading and being a Hospice Volunteer. Charlotte lives in North Carolina with her husband and two children.

PreSchool-Grade 2-Lundy frames a retelling of the Noah story with an account of Elaine's participation in a riding show. As she practices with her horse, she dreams of earning a blue ribbon. Her mother tells her that such determination reminds her of Noah's commitment to following God's instructions for rescuing the animals from the flood. Since the child appears to be about 9 or 10 years old, the premise that this is her first encounter with the familiar story seems implausible. This book recalls Sunday-school leaflets. The illustrations are awkward and static, and the characters' oddly elongated bodies and washed-out facial features will do little to hold the attention of a young audience. Two slight plots in one story don't add up to a title worth purchasing.
