From the Author
I moved to Spokane from Iowa with my parents in February of 1958. My first golf lesson that spring was from Curley Hueston and later I benefitted from Jim Shriver's junior golf program at Indian Canyon. As a kid, I had the pleasure of knowing Neil Christian and Bill Ross. Later, I worked for Joe Durgan and became a friend of Bill Welch. These wonderful people inspired me to play golf and write these books. I hope they are as much fun for you to read as they were for me to write.
About the Author
As a youngster, I was intriqued by golf, which to me was the art of getting a tiny ball into a hole that seemed to be very far away. When I first came to Spokane in 1958 my dad took me to Indian Canyon Golf course to try this mysterious game. After I saw the canyon, I knew that golf was a great game, and golf in Spokane was very special. This book tells the Spokane golf story.
