Synopsis

All of Us: Births and A Better Life--Population, Development and Environment in a Globalized World, is a timely anthology of selections from the pages of The Earth Times. Contributors include President Bill Clinton, and wellknown writers and journalists such as Tom Wicker, A. M. Rosenthal, Flora Lewis, Seymour Topping, Audrey Ronning Topping, John Corry, James W. Michaels, and Morris B. Abram. The book examines the critical problems of the human environment confronting the United States and societies on other rich countries as well as in poor countries--problems including climate change, inadequate economic growth, lagging health-care, low status of women, exploitation of children, the AIDs pandemic, rampant population growth, and social injustice. And the book looks at individuals and institutions who are acting as agents of positive change in their societies.
