Economic Logic is a revolutionary free-market textbook, focusing on micro-economics. The textbook begins with the profit-loss statement, for example. Each chapter is supported with real world examples, biographies of pertinent economists and recommended reading. It covers supply and demand, monopoly and competition, factors of production, stock and bond markets, prices and output, and definitions of economics. Macro-economic, government policy and future of economics textbooks (Economic Logic Parts II, III and IV) are forthcoming. A perfect textbook for professors and students of community colleges, preparatory high schools, universities and colleges, home schoolers and professionals interested in the real forces that drive business and the economy.

About the Author:
Known as the "maverick" of economics for his contrarian and optimistic views, his sometimes-outrageous statements and predictions, Mark Skousen is the editor of the popular investment newsletter Forecasts & Strategies, a professor at Rollins College in Florida, a prolific author of 20 financial books and a world-renowned speaker. He's made his unique sense of market and investment trends known and respected in the financial world. With a Ph.D. in economics and a focus on the principles of free-market capitalism and "Austrian" economics, Mark Skousen has often gone contrary to the crowd in his investment choices and economic predictions -- and has often been proved right.

His more unusual predictions include:

Forecasting in the early 1980s that "Reaganomics will work!;"

Sending a special alert to subscribers of Forecasts & Strategies to "Sell all stocks and mutual funds" on Sept. 8, 1987, just six weeks before the 1987 Stock Market Crash;

Calling for the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the collapse of Soviet Communism; and,

Predicting of the biggest bull market on Wall Street in the 20th century -- the 1990s.

An almost idealistic proponent of liberty and political freedom, Mark Skousen is actively involved in some of the most prestigious free-market and liberty think tanks in the world. He frequently speaks and writes articles for organizations such as the Cato Institute, the Foundation for Economic Education, the Libertarian Party, the Council for National Policy and the Mt. Pelerin Society. He also is a columnist for Forbes Magazine.

Review:
"After using Economic Logic this semester, I will never go back to another textbook." -- Prof. Harry Veryser, Walsh College, Michigan

"I think your textbook is better than Paul Heyne's. It has an excellent balance of theory and the real world that no other text has achieved. I'll use it next time." -- Prof. Charles Baird, CalState Hayward

"Skousen's experience in business boosts his creditability with students. The way Economic Logic integrates economics with accounting, finance, management and marketing successfully differentiates this textbook from all others. Great chapters on entrepreneurship and the stock market." -- Prof. Phil Murray, Webber College
