Daphne Singingtree has been teaching and practicing midwifery since 1974. She founded the Oregon School of Midwifery and the Birthsong Midwifery School, served on the board of the Midwifery Education and Accreditation Council, the Oregon State Board of Direct Entry Midwifery, and was the chair of the Education Committee for the Midwives Alliance of North America. She is the author of the Birthsong Midwifery Workbook and the Emergency Guide to Obstetric Complications. She lives with her family in Eugene, Oregon.
