After a dramatic religious experience in 1976, Ferdinand Mahfood began laying the groundwork for Food For The Poor, an international non-profit Christian aid organizaiton. Mahfood began shipping supplies to the poor in 1982, wanting to serve Christ in the poorest of the poor. Today Food For The Poor has shipped more than $550 million in food, medicine, educational, and small business supplies to 33 countries in the Caribbean and Latin America. Mahfood says God is solely responsible for the tremendous success and growth of Food For the Poor.
