The annual Almanac of Architecture & Design is the essential and definitive tool for architecture and design - including architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, industrial design, historic preservation, and planning - and the only sourcebook of its kind. The Third Edition is fully updated and expanded with a foreword by Robert Campbell, the Pulitzer Prize winning architecture critic from the Boston Globe.
Highlights of the Third Edition include the acceptance speeches by recent award winners Michael Graves and Hertzog & de Meuron, the results of the 2002 Architecture and Interior Design school rankings, and an updated salary and compensation guide for architects and designers. The new Design Education chapter features major student and faculty award programs and their winners, an updated matrix of accredited design programs, a listing of design and design-related Doctorate and Ph.D. programs, and a salary and recruiting guide for students.
The Almanac also contains many rankings of design firms found nowhere else: the Largest Architecture Firms by City, Largest Architecture Firms by Project Type, $100,000,000 Architecture Firms, and the Top Architecture Firms by City. The Records, Rankings, and Achievements chapter includes an exclusive listing of architecture critics from the nation’s newspapers, the Most Admired Poll from a jury of architects and designers, the most popular U.S. buildings as ranked by architects at varies points in history, a comprehensive list of all the major sports stadiums and their architects, and other building/architectural statistics.
In addition to its new features, the Third Edition fully updates the information and statistics found in past editions, including over 20 worldwide design museums and their 2002 exhibition calendars, an updated list of the world's tallest buildings and best skylines, all the latest award winning projects and designers, the most recent historic preservation award winners and programs, fully updated design and construction statistics with charts; recent obituaries of design leaders, the Top 25 Most Visited Historic House Museums for 2002, and much more.
