James Cramer is the founder and chairman of Greenway Consulting and adjunct professor of architecture at the University of Hawaii. He researches, consults, and gives seminars for leading professional firms around the world. He is the author of 135 articles and several books, including the critically acclaimed Design + Enterprise, Seeking a New Reality in Architecture. He is co-author of the upcoming How Firms Succeed, A Field Guide to Management Solutions. Cramer is the former chief executive of The American Institute of Architects in Washington D.C. and is the former president of the American Architectural Foundation. The recipient of over eighty awards and honors, he was presented the University of Minnesota’s Distinguished Service Medal for his work advocating the value of good design into the mainstream of corporate America. He is currently the co-chair of the Washington D.C.-based think-tank, the Design Futures Council. An educator, futurist, and business advisor, he is currently leading workshops on technology advancements and pending value migration changes in the design professions.
Jennifer Evans Yankopolus is the co-editor of the Almanac of Architecture & Design and an architectural historian. She is also the editor of the Archidek series of collectable, educational architecture trading cards. She has a Master’s degree in architecture history from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She also studied at Drake University, where she received her B.S. in business administration and earned a Master’s Degree in heritage preservation at Georgia State University. As a researcher, architectural historian, and project director, she leads Greenway’s initiatives that bring historical perspective and fresh insight to futures invention assignments.
