About the Author

Carol Ann Waugh has more than 20 years experience in the publishing industry with an emphasis on developing, introducing, and marketing new products and services to the library and education markets. Carol has executive management experience at TI-IN Network as vice president of New Business Development, R.R. Bower as executive vice president and publisher, Progressive Grocer as vice president, and Butterick Publishing as vice president. In addition, Carol started, built and sold an information database company specializing in the microcomputer industry. In 1986, she formed a consulting company and since then, has worked with more than 35 publishing companies nationwide to help them develop new products and marketing channels.

Kathryn Kleibacker brings more than 20 years experience in education and library new business development to the Internet Monitor. She has created million-dollar products for several of the nation's largest and most innovative publishing, technology, and supplemental companies. Kathy began her career in educational television, then moved on to film, video, and software development at Doubleday and CBS Educational Publishing, where she became director of New Technology Development in the early 1980s. She continued her new media work as vice president of New Product Development at R.R. Bowker before starting her own consulting business in 1988. She has consulted with numerous school and library companies, helping them to assess and develop new product strategies.

Linda Winter leads Winter Group, a marketing communications and design firm that celebrates its twentieth anniversary in the year 2000. Winter Group has provided a range of creative and market research services to education and library publishing clients. She is also an experienced focus group moderator and market research analyst.
