Charles E."Snuffy" Myers, M.D. is the former cancer center Director and is currently professor of medicine and urology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Dr. Myers conducts a "second opinion " clinic for prostate cancer patients.Dr. Myers is an internationally recognized expert in prostate cancer. He has lectured extensively in the US and the United Kingdom. He is a popular speaker among prostate cancer patients because of his ability to explain science and medicine in easy to understand language. Snuffy and his wife Rose started the Prostate Forum in 1996 to help prostate cancer patients and their families understand the disease and current treatment options. Rose Sgarlat Myers, PT, Ph.D is the chief operating officer of Rivanna Health Publications, President of the Corporation for Health Education and Careers, and a consultant in physical therapy education. She was a faculty member at the University of Prennsylvania, Geogetown University, and the University Maryland before becoming the Director of Education for the American Physical Therapy Association. Dr Rose Sgarlat Myers is the editor of the Saunders Manual of Physical Therapy Practice, a major text and reference book for physical therapists.
Sara Sgarlat Steck, RT worked in the health care field in Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. Her interest in nutrition was aroused when one of her three children was diagnosed with Acute Lmphoblastic Leukemia. constant while trying to get her son to eat.Her interest in nutrition grew as she began to participate in body building and weight training. Sara became an advocate of low-fat meals and eventually became a vegetarian. During training for body building competition she became a vegan. She is a personal trainer helping others through weight training and diet. She teaches cooking, especially vegetarian and low-fat cooking.
