Leadership 101: Developing Leadership Skills for Resilient Youth is a "foundations of leadership" curriculum for teen leaders. The facilitator's guide consists of eighteen (90 minute) lessons or over 30 (50 minute) lessons. Topics include: defining leadership, qualities of leaders/leadership, self-assessment, power/influence/authority, communication & listening, consensus, ethical leadership, team building, gender & leadership, tolerance & diversity, motivation, risk taking, creative thinking, and encouragement & appreciation. Other topics are addressed in the debriefing and application of each activity/lesson. All activities are designed to be experiential and include debriefing and reflection guidelines. An accompanying student workbook is also available (Leadership 101: Developing Your Leadership Skills).

Mariam MacGregor has a BA in Management from Gettysburg College and a MS in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University. After working with student leadership development at the college level, she chose to focus on leadership education at the secondary level.
Prior to working in secondary education, she served as Associate Director of Student Activities/Leadership Development Director at Metropolitan State College of Denver; Assistant Director, Center for Student Leadership at Santa Clara University; and Assistant Director for Leadership and Student Organizations at Syracuse University.
