Synopsis
Personal dreams carry a level of communal, or tribal, meaning that reveals the soul of the "tribe." In The Community Dream: Awaking the Christian Tribal Consciousness, Pat Brockman, PhD, tells stories arising from her research in four intentional communities. What she learned can be applied to any intentional group, whether it is a Friday night poker club, a corporate structure, or a family reunion. Dreams are a window into the "soul" of a group, shedding light on its complications and potential for transformation as well as on how individuals function within it.
Brockman's work moves inductively through four community experiences to an understanding of the communal dream process. According to Henry Reed, often called the father of modern dreamwork, she presents "'spiritual politics' at its finest, actually bringing spirit into the design of the body politic. Brockman is a masterful modern-day shaman, and her story will be an inspiration to any intentional community, including America itself!"

About the Author
Pat Brockman is a community consultant, retreat director and personal spiritual counselor, whose doctoral research is based upon Carl Jung's concept of the collective psyche. She is an Ursuline of Brown County, Ohio. Her longitudinal study of groups described in the book extended over a decade.
