Hardback. Condition: Good. Having a special-needs child can be one of life's biggest and lengthiest challenges. In this well-written book, Ron Blomberg shares his family's struggle raising a granddaughter who has spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) as well as coping with end-of-life issues for an elderly mother-in-law experiencing progressive dementia. How does one understand these challenges, and how do you see God's hand in all these events? The strength of this book is how real and honest Blomberg is when sharing his own struggles with us. You will be both enlightened and blessed reading about his family's pilgrimage through these various challenges. I learned from it, and you will too. J. William Worden, Ph.D., professor of psychology (retired)-Harvard Medical School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Rosemead School of Psychology (Biola University), Laguna Niguel, California Every night as I put my children to bed, I give them the blessing from Numbers 6:26. Both children, if I forget, will come to me seeking this blessing. In Ron Blomberg's meditative book God's Special-Needs Children, we are reminded that we are all blessed by the Lord daily-bidden or not bidden. Walking the journey of Adelaide's diagnosis and Nancy's passing with this family has been a joy and a blessing for which I will be ever grateful. Dr. Jennifer K. Green, associate professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee Your story is being written, and some of it is etched behind the scenes. Ron Blomberg takes you beneath the surface of disabilities and special needs and leads you on a path few are willing to take: a journey to the mirror. Tom McElligott, cohost of Mornings with Tom and Tabi, Moody Radio, Chattanooga, Tennessee Through his unique perspective as the grandparent of a special-needs child, Ron Blomberg shares valuable scriptures, stories, and songs to provide inspiration, comfort, and hope to those who may be similarly grieving the perceived loss of dreams they had for their grandchild. Cindy Gilmore, founder, Champions Club for Special Needs Children at Seacoast Grace Church, Cypress, California This is a deeply moving story about how God uses very diff icult circumstances to bring about profound personal transformation. The story of this family's journey with Ron's granddaughter and his mother-in-law is an incredible reminder of God's faithfulness in very hard places and the importance of family pulling together to love and serve each other. With a heart of faith, Ron writes with gentle tenderness and raw honesty to bring hope to otherwise overwhelming suff ering. This story will draw you in quickly.
