The Letkeman family settled in Renata in south-central B.C. in 1917 when Peter was three years old. His book tells of family life struggling to make ends meet with anecdotes that keep the reader chuckling. As I Remember It takes Peter through the Dirty Thirties, coming into the Church, his Army Days, to raising a family with Jean, his wife of 52 years, while working at C.M. & S. (now Cominco) in Trail, on the Castlegar-Robson Ferry and farming in Robson. Peter's love of the outdoors is reflected in his tales of herding cows, fighting fires, fishing, trapping, hunting and travelling in their VW camper van. With numerous photographs, As I Remember It is a good read not only for history buffs, but for everyone.
