Pamela Bauer Mueller was raised in Oregon.  She has worked as a flight attendant, commercial model and actress, English and Spanish teacher and a U.S. Customs Inspector.  She now lives on Jekyll Island Georgia with her husband Michael and their cats Sukey Spice and Morgan Maurice.

Pamela's children and young adult books have awarded her the 2006/2008and the 2009Georgia Author of the Year titles, three Mom's Choice and Children’s Choice gold medals, the Independent Publisher Gold Book awards and other national awards with Writer's Digest and ForeWord magazines.  In her sixth historical novel, she introduces us to two female Civil War spies, Antonia Ford and Pauline Cushman, and their true stories of deep patriotism, deception and duplicity.

This story of my life is based on actual events. However, there may be moments where I have altered or decorated the facts just a bit whenever they could have reflected unfavorably on me. And, being a cat, I retain the rights to my privacy whenever desired.

If you wish to learn about cats, only a cat can tell you. Humans mean well when they write cat stories, but they are far less advanced than they fancy themselves. Sometimes, but rarely, a human is lucky enough to imagine part of himself into a cat. This would allow that person ’s cat to imagine part of himself into a human being. And that’s where the magical relationship begins! I am one of those lucky cats.

I was born in Mexico City, lived out my young years there, then moved to San Diego, California as a young adult. Both my brother, Canica, and I are bilingual and bicultural. We are equally comfortable being summoned with “bichu bichu ” in Spanish or “kitty, kitty, here kitty ”in English. Because of this, we have perfected the art of eavesdropping to our great advantage, allowing us to be the architects of our own lives.

This journal follows my humble birth in Mexico City, my carefree childhood and youth, and a portion of my adult years in California. It will take you on an adventurous roller coaster ride of stories —some happy, some sad, others frightening and challenging, but all meaningful.
