Stand Call, My Son is the story of a Native Youth's education and coming of age in an earlier time on the west coast of Vancouver Island. It is also the story of Native culture on the Northwest Coast, of the Native knowledge and understanding of the natural world around them and of their relationships with each other. It is an intimate story of Indian society that is seldom told.
