Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen was one of the leading religious figures of the 20th century and the chief spokesman of American Catholicism. This work reflects his 16 years of service as national director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith and 26 years on radio and television. The only work where he describes his Christian philosophy, this work was begun in 1965 in the privacy of his New York City residence at the conclusion of the Second Vatican Council. It is his response to millions of letters he received from people around the world writing him in search of truth, salvation, and spiritual guidance and was also conceived to explain his mission to evangelize the world. This book provides Sheen’s answers to life’s most profound questions and presents the Christian philosophy of life.

Those searching for more personal theological and philosophical information to complement biographical overviews of Sheen's private life and professional career should check out Your Life Is Worth Living. This book, previously unpublished in written form, comprises the text of a 25-record audio recording released by Sheen in 1965 as an intimate response to the many inquiries about the intricacies of the Catholic religion he received in his capacity as the National Director for the Society of the Propagation of the Faith. Covering a range of topics such as the relationship between God and humanity, the significance of Christ as both God and man, the purpose of both sin and sacraments in daily life, and the fundamental tension between the soul and the material world, Sheen addresses an array of spiritual and corporeal issues that continue to intrigue and puzzle a new generation of both the faithful and the merely curious.
