This is a memoir about an Alabama white boy, born in a cotton mill boarding house & raised by a black female bootlegger whose name was Kathrin. It involves his six diverse lives including: A street urchin, a vagabond, a controversial state senator & governor George Wallace adversary; a developer of multi-million dollar projects; a presidential appointee; a spy suspect held by KGB in Russia. In his first life he was exposed to southern black lifestyle in Kathrin's home lounge where he listened to black blues. His spiritual exposure consisted of Sunday services at a rural black church. His second life began when he was prematurely returned from France as an exchange student following a heart breaking love affair. He whirl-winded through college in two & half years accented by a dangerous night in jail & a trying racial experience while working on the campus with a black sewer line crew. After college he was elected to the Alabama Senate where his controversial political battles with governor George Wallace are well documented. Disillusionment with politics brought him into another life as a developer of hotels & apartments. He is still energized by Kathrin's philosophy, "you can't lose, no matter what, when you start with nothing", & her compelling words, "Just Get On With It..."
