An ordinary life is disrupted by compelling images, dreams and memories from another place and time.
THE STORY OF LITTLE FEATHER...A PAST LIFE JOURNEY transports the reader into the mind, heart and world of a Native American warrior fighting to save his people from extermination and struggling to hold onto the profound spiritual consciousness that has opened to him. Born into a time of great historical turmoil yet with the ability to call upon the ancient wisdom of his people, Little Feather strives to live in the sacred way of his ancestors while the world around him is overcome by war. Through verse accompanying sixteen color reproductions of her vivid and evocative paintings of key moments in the story, the author gives glimpses of her own long struggle to allow awareness of the overwhelming experiences and emotions of her previous self.

Intriguing and poignant, beautifully and simply written without sentimentality or romanticization, THE STORY OF LITTLE FEATHER...A PAST LIFE JOURNEY is an amazing story within a story. The clear and powerful voice of Little Feather gives expression to the spirituality and intelligence of the Native American way of life, while the author's vision and voice share her inner struggle to validate and accept her perceptions. This extraordinary book is like no other study of reincarnation, Native American culture, or humanity's great spiritual quest to find imperishable well-being undimmed by suffering and death.
I never wanted to be a writer! Such excruciating, slow and lonely work--I much prefer working with people as a health professional, or hiking in the great outdoors. But THE STORY OF LITTLE FEATHER just grew inside me. For many years, I resisted writing, even thinking, about the material. Eventually, NOT expressing it became more painful than telling. Once I discovered that I could put the troubling images into paintings, the writing began to flow. Yet my passion lies not in being a writer or an artist, but in being a "Rememberer." I feel that it is my responsibility, even my calling, to bring Little Feather's story into the present where I know it will resonate with the truth that dwells in every heart, the truth of the soul's immortality.
