This book presents the reader with rare shared-life perspectives of many historically significant photographic artists (such as Minor White, Ansel Adams, Dorothy Lange, and Edward Weston), while they communed at the Siembab Galery in Boston. Fused with a spiritual and shocking presence, these artists, as seen through the lens of Carl Siembab, laid ground ground for the artistic merit of photography as we have come to know it today. Forward by Carl Chiarenza, Ph.D.

About the Author:
While a graduate student at Harvard in the early 90's, Keith Armstrong began writing about the life and works of Carl Siembab, when still a leading curator of photography on the Eastern Sea Board. Himself a photographer with a recent book, Visual Pathways to the Inner Self, Keith employs a type of visual anthropology to appreciate photographic works. In this regard, he asks artists to describe pathways between their photographs and their creative selves; then Keith seeks a response from the viewer, hoping to capture impromptu insights between both the artist and the viewer. Keith presently enjoys showing his photography and promoting the work of his own photographic students at DePaul University, Chicago. And as a sidebar, his students have launched a publishing house to promote the works of other upcoming writers and photographers.
